Panel Area Calculator
The width divided by the cover width gives how many panels stand side by side; the length gives how many metres each panel is cut to. That is the whole calculation.
STEP 1
Panel group
Where the panel is going. The cover width and the maximum production length change with the group, so the calculation starts here.
STEP 2
Width to cover
The total width the panels will be laid across. It can be a single surface or the sum of several; the calculation treats both the same way.
STEP 3
Panel length
The length each panel is cut to at the factory. It does not change the panel count, it increases the area.
STEP 4
Cover width
The net width a panel covers in place. The width to cover is divided by it and the remainder is rounded up.
The result is a preliminary figure. The exact quantity varies with the roof geometry, the eaves allowances and the cutting plan; waste and lap allowances are not included.
