NKS 30 80/80 is an aluminium-faced PIR board produced for indoor ventilation ducts. Thicknesses are supplied as 20 and 30 mm, and the board size is 1200 x 2400 mm.
The aluminium thickness is the same on both faces (80/80). The surface has a stucco embossed texture, and the board is grooved at an angle with special knives and folded to form the duct section; fabrication can be carried out on site.
The 30 mm thickness is selected for long runs carrying cooled air and for routes passing through warm, humid spaces. The determining factor is not the section but the risk of condensation: if the duct surface falls below the dew point of the environment, it collects water. Before grooving, the board must have reached ambient temperature; in a cold board the foam behaves in a brittle manner.
